NCP leader Sharad Pawar accused the Maharashtra government on Monday of falling short in addressing the drought-like conditions affecting the state. In a letter to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Pawar emphasized the alarming drop in dam water levels and severe water scarcity affecting multiple regions.

At a May 24 press conference in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Pawar had urged cooperative efforts to combat the drought. However, he noted a significant lack of public representatives and ministers at subsequent review meetings.

Pawar criticized the government's insufficient measures, noting increased tanker usage and a worsening fodder situation for livestock. He urged immediate action and warned of potential protests if effective measures aren't seen on the ground.
