A case has been registered against a Facebook user named Brahmanwadi Chandrashekhar Choubey for allegedly inciting violence ahead of the Lok Sabha election vote count, which is scheduled for June 4. The Ballia Police's social media cell disclosed this information on Monday.
Choubey is accused of urging people to gather at the Ballia Naveen Sabzi Mandi Sthal with weapons through a post on his Facebook account. The police have registered a case against him at the Ballia City Kotwali police station and are actively trying to apprehend him.
The authorities have implemented stringent security measures for the upcoming vote count. They have also intensified surveillance of social media platforms to identify individuals who spread chaos and incite violence, according to police reports.
