In a significant development, the Delhi court has denied interim bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, citing a lack of serious health concerns despite his claims. The court observed that Kejriwal’s extensive campaigning tours indicated no life-threatening ailment.
The denial comes amid Kejriwal's custody extension until June 19 in connection with the money laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam. The court has directed the Tihar jail authorities to address his medical needs immediately.
Furthermore, the AIIMS Medical Board is tasked with conducting necessary diagnostic tests to ensure Kejriwal's health is adequately monitored while he remains in custody. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had opposed the bail application, questioning the timing of Kejriwal's health claims.
