Suspect Apprehended in Stabbing of Iowa College Instructors in China

Chinese police have detained a 55-year-old man following a stabbing incident involving four instructors from Iowa's Cornell College, who were teaching at a university in Jilin. The suspect, surnamed Cui, attacked after bumping into a foreigner. A Chinese individual who tried to intervene was also injured.

In a recently reported incident, Chinese police confirm that they have detained a 55-year-old man suspected of a stabbing attack involving four instructors from Iowa's Cornell College. The educators were conducting classes at a university in Jilin, a northeastern city in China.

According to Jilin city police, the suspect, identified by the surname Cui, was in a public park when he accidentally bumped into one of the foreign instructors. The altercation rapidly escalated, leading Cui to stab the individual along with three other foreign instructors who were present.

A Chinese citizen intervened in an attempt to halt the attack and was also injured. The incident raises serious concerns about the safety of foreign educators in China.
