In a significant breakthrough, Yaba tablets valued at over Rs 66 crore were confiscated on Wednesday, resulting in the arrests of three peddlers in Assam's Karimganj district, according to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

''Breaking the backbone of the Drugs network! In two separate anti-narcotics operations conducted today, @STFAssam & @karimganjpolice seized 2,20,000 YABA tablets worth Rs 66 cr from a vehicle and arrested three accused coming from a neighbouring State,'' Sarma shared in a post on X.

In another related case, 36,000 Yaba tablets were seized from a vehicle in Karbi Anglong district,'' he added.

The Chief Minister commended the Assam Police's persistent efforts to rid the state of drugs.
