Naidu Resolves to Revive Amaravati Amidst Dilemma

Praising the local farmers, he emphasized that Amaravati will remain the state's capital and sought public suggestions for its development.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu visited Amaravati on Thursday to evaluate the progress of its stalled projects. This marks his first visit since taking office for the fourth term.

Naidu, showing visible signs of dilemma, announced plans to release a White paper detailing the status of Amaravati and called for public input on the city's future.

The Amaravati project faced significant delays from 2019 to 2024 under the previous YSRCP regime. With a change in government, Naidu affirmed Amaravati as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh. He commended the farmers who sacrificed their land and emphasized the city's importance for the five crore people of the state. Naidu also criticized the previous administration for extravagant expenditures like the Rs 500-crore mansion built in Visakhapatnam.
