Bihar Police Detain Six in Connection with NEET Exam Irregularities

In a significant development, the Bihar Police have detained six individuals from Jharkhand's Deoghar district in connection with alleged malpractices in the NEET medical entrance examination. According to an official statement, these individuals were apprehended late on Friday night from a residence near AIIMS-Deoghar.
The arrests were made following a tip-off from the Bihar Police, which led to the identifications and consequent detention of the suspects. Ritvik Srivastava, SDPO (Deoghar Sadar), confirmed that all individuals have since been transported to Bihar for further interrogation.
The detained individuals include Paramjit Singh alias Bittu, Chintu alias Baldev Kumar, Kaju alias Prashant Kumar, Ajit Kumar, Rajiv Kumar alias Karu, and Panku Kumar. They are all residents of Nalanda district in Bihar. The NEET-UG exam, conducted by the NTA on May 5 and taken by around 24 lakh candidates, has been mired in controversy following allegations of question paper leaks.
