Former MP Prajwal Revanna Remanded to Judicial Custody on Sexual Abuse Charges

Former MP Prajwal Revanna was remanded to 14 days judicial custody by a local court on Monday following charges of rape and sexual abuse against several women.

Revanna, arrested upon his return from Germany by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), appeared before the magistrate as his custody ended on Monday. The magistrate ordered his judicial custody until July 8.

The court also reserved orders on his bail application, which was submitted to the Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge, for June 26. Revanna, the 33-year-old grandson of JD(S) patriarch and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, had lost his bid to retain the Hassan parliamentary constituency in recent elections.
