A 57-year-old man from Thane lost ₹1.12 crore after he was lured by cyber fraudsters into investing in Bitcoin trading, according to a police report on Monday.

The incident occurred between April and June when the victim was contacted via a Facebook link. The accused assured higher returns, leading the victim to invest ₹1,12,62,871.

Despite multiple attempts, the victim failed to receive any returns on his investment and approached the police when the accused began ignoring his calls. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act, but no arrests have been made so far.
