Farmers Demand Action Against Disruptors Amid Ongoing Protest

On Sunday, farmers claimed that a group of individuals tried to disrupt their protest by attempting to take over the stage. However, the group, including traders from Ambala, refuted the allegations, stating they intended to highlight their losses due to the blockade of the Ambala-Ludhiana national highway and request the removal of the blockade.

Farmers have been stationed at the Shambhu and Khanauri border points between Punjab and Haryana since February 13, following the halting of their march to Delhi by security forces. The protest, led by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM), aims to press the government for a legal guarantee on minimum support price (MSP) for crops.

KMM leader Dilbagh Singh Harigarh alleged that the 'miscreants' were backed by state and central governments to defame the farmers' agitation, demanding their arrest. Bharatiya Kisan Union leaders echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing that blockades set up by the Haryana government were preventing their march to Delhi. Local villagers have expressed support for the farmers' cause.
