The barricades, initially set up in February, have severely impacted businesses, particularly those dealing in wholesale clothing, jewelry, and electric goods. Vishal Batra, president of Ambala Wholesale Cloth Merchant Association, stressed the financial losses endured due to the highway closure.
Naresh Aggrwal of the Ambala Jewellery Association highlighted the tremendous losses faced by jewellers, stating Ambala is one of the largest markets for branded jewelry. Other local associations echoed support for the court's decision, hoping for a swift resumption of normal trade activities.
