Police in Boston are actively searching for a gunman responsible for firing into a crowd in the city's Dorchester section on Wednesday night. The incident left five people injured, including an 11-year-old child.
The victims, who also included a 21-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, a 21-year-old woman, and a 20-year-old woman, were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to a statement from the Boston Police Department.
Mayor Michelle Wu visited the scene and expressed her concern, emphasizing that residents should not have to encounter violence while enjoying a summer evening. Authorities have yet to make any arrests and have not disclosed possible motives behind the shooting.
