Congress Demands White Paper on Jagannath Temple's Ratna Bhandar

The Congress party has called on the Odisha government to publish a white paper detailing the records of the Jagannath temple's Ratna Bhandar. Amid concerns over the inability to open the chamber with the existing keys, Congress demands thorough investigation, transparency in inventory, and a judicial probe into recent events.

The opposition Congress on Tuesday demanded that the Odisha government publish a white paper on the ‘Ratna Bhandar’ (treasury) of the Jagannath temple in Puri.

The party insisted that this document should include detailed records of the Ratna Bhandar’s valuables from past inventories and an upcoming inventory.

At a press conference, former OPCC president Prasad Harichandan reiterated the party’s demand for reopening the treasury for inventory and repair purposes. He noted that the BJP government has recently made progress in this area.
