Massive Diesel Seizure: 33,000 Litres Caught at Rewas Port

Authorities have successfully seized 33,000 litres of diesel that was being smuggled into the country via the sea route at Rewas port in Maharashtra's Raigad district. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with this smuggling attempt.
Officials confirmed that the diesel and the trawler used for its transport are collectively valued at Rs 36.40 lakh. The suspects, identified as Ganesh Koli (40), Vinayak Koli (45), Gajanan Koli (45), and Mukesh Nishad (45), reside in Bodni Koliwada, Alibag taluka of the district.
Acting on a tip-off, police deployed at the jetty conducted a search upon the trawler's arrival and discovered the illegal diesel consignment. Following the seizure, the four suspects were detained, and charges were registered under section 287 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with sections of the Essential Commodities Act and the Petroleum Act.
