Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday stated that former minister B Nagendra, currently in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the ST Corporation scam, is being pressured to implicate others.
Nagendra stepped down as Tribal Welfare Minister following the suicide of Accounts Superintendent Chandrasekharan P of the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation on May 26. Chandrasekharan's suicide note alleged Rs 187 crore embezzlement, including an illegal transfer of Rs 88 crore.
The CBI and ED are investigating the matter, Siddaramaiah noted, while assuring that the embezzled funds will be recovered.
