Israeli Strikes Target Hezbollah Ammunition Depot in Southern Lebanon
Israeli airstrikes on Saturday targeted an ammunition depot belonging to Hezbollah in Adloun, southern Lebanon, causing multiple explosions and wounding at least four civilians. The strikes follow recent tensions between Israel and Hezbollah and coincide with attacks in Yemen by Israeli fighter jets after a Houthi drone struck Tel Aviv.
Israeli airstrikes late on Saturday targeted an ammunition depot belonging to the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, according to three security sources.
The strikes, on the town of Adloun, located 40 km north of Lebanon's border with Israel, triggered a series of loud explosions heard by witnesses across southern Lebanon. At least four civilians in Adloun were wounded in the attacks, as confirmed by a medical source and a security source.
On the same day, Israeli fighter jets hit Houthi military targets in Yemen’s port city of Hodeidah, which Hezbollah indicated would mark a “new and dangerous phase” in the region. These strikes followed a drone attack by Iranian-backed Houthis hitting Israel's economic hub, Tel Aviv.
Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging fire since Hezbollah declared a “support front” with Palestinians, shortly after its ally Hamas attacked southern Israeli border communities on October 7, provoking Israel's military response in Gaza.
