Tragic Suicide Allegation Shakes Nadaun Village

Raghubir Singh, a resident of Telkar village in Nadaun area, allegedly committed suicide after a police raid based on a false complaint about possessing an unlicensed rifle, police reported on Sunday.
According to Singh's wife, Lata Devi, the complaint by Babu Ram led to a police search that found no weapon. She recounted that Singh expressed his frustration over the false accusations to defame him, saying he preferred death. Lata later found Singh hanging in their room.
A case of abetment to suicide has been filed under Section 108 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, as confirmed by SP Hamirpur Bhagat Singh Thakur. The community demands that those responsible for the baseless complaints be held accountable.
