IAS Probationer's Mother Sent to Judicial Custody in Land Dispute Case

In Pune, a court has remanded Manorama Khedkar, the mother of IAS probationer Puja Khedkar, to judicial custody following her alleged involvement in threatening individuals with a gun over a land dispute.

Manorama was produced in the court of a judicial magistrate first class after her police custody concluded on Monday, and she has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

She was arrested at a lodge in Hirkaniwadi village near Mahad in Raigad district on July 18, following a video showing her allegedly threatening individuals with a firearm surfaced. Police have charged the Khedkar couple and five others under various sections of the IPC and the Arms Act, recovering a pistol and car linked to the episode.
