Delhi High Court Orders Removal of Defamatory Posts Against Anjali Birla

The Delhi High Court directed X Corp and Google to remove objectionable social media posts against Indian Railway Personnel Service officer Anjali Birla, daughter of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The court issued an interim order restraining further defamatory posting, noting Birla had made a prima facie case in her favor.

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday ordered X Corp and Google Inc to take down allegedly defamatory social media posts targeting Indian Railway Personnel Service officer Anjali Birla, daughter of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

Justice Navin Chawla, in an interim order, also prohibited unknown parties from further disseminating the defamatory content highlighted by Anjali Birla in her suit.

According to the court, Birla established a prima facie case, and intermediaries must remove the incriminated posts within 24 hours. Should additional similar posts emerge, Birla is to inform X and Google.
