The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday granted bail to Vasudev Bhagwan Suryavanshi and Amit Baddi, accused in the murder of scholar M M Kalburgi.

Justice M G Uma highlighted that the original theft case connected to the stolen two-wheeler used by the shooters had been resolved years prior.

Moreover, only 10 out of 138 witnesses have been examined in the ongoing trial, and the prosecution could not provide a timeline for the trial's conclusion. The court found no prima facie evidence of their involvement in the murder case, other than the theft.
