Serial Child Rapist Arrested in Gurugram After Decade-long Crime Spree
Gurugram police have arrested Ratan, a 50-year-old man from Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, for allegedly raping a 3-year-old girl. Ratan, who served 10 years in prison for a similar crime in 2005, had been on the run and was wanted in multiple cases of rape and sodomy. He confessed to his crimes during interrogation.

Gurugram police detained a 50-year-old man named Ratan from Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, on allegations of raping a 3-year-old girl. Officials reported that Ratan, a resident of Balihari village in Chhatarpur district, was implicated in multiple rape and sodomy cases.
Ratan had previously served a 10-year prison sentence for the rape of a 5-year-old girl in 2005 and was also wanted for sodomizing a 6-year-old boy in 2024. The latest incident came to light on April 26, following a complaint from the 3-year-old victim's mother.
Authorities registered an FIR under the POCSO Act and offered a Rs 51,000 reward for information leading to Ratan's arrest. After numerous raids, Ratan was apprehended and confessed to his crimes. Police revealed that he had a pattern of moving cities post-crime to avoid capture.
