Israeli forces have recovered the bodies of two hostages killed in Hamas' Oct. 7 attack and held in Gaza since then, as reported by Israel's Army Radio. Maya Goren, a 56-year-old kindergarten teacher from Nir Oz, was one of the victims.
Oren Goldin, 33, from a nearby kibbutz, Nir Yitzhak, was the second hostage recovered. The Israeli military has not yet confirmed the report.
Goren and Goldin were among the 120 hostages believed to be held in Gaza, with around 40 declared dead in absentia. In an address to the U.S. Congress, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed confidence in ongoing efforts to secure the release of the remaining hostages. Talks mediated by the U.S., Egypt, and Qatar regarding a ceasefire and hostage release will occur next week.
