Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of two lorry drivers from the state who were recently killed in a landslide and flood in Karnataka.

In an official statement, the CM announced a compensation of Rs three lakh each to the families of Chinnannan and Murugan, the drivers who hailed from villages in Namakkal and Krishnagiri districts, respectively.

The unfortunate incident occurred on July 16 in Shirur, situated in Karnataka's Uttara Kannad district, following heavy rains that triggered the disaster.
