US Woman's Rape Allegations Against Ajmer Advocate Spark Investigation

A Florida woman has accused Ajmer advocate Manav Singh Rathor of repeatedly raping her under false promises of marriage, despite already having a family. A case has been registered and investigations are underway following a zero FIR filed in Bundi. The woman was assisted by an NGO in lodging the complaint.

Police registered a case of rape on Thursday following a complaint by a US-based woman against an advocate from Ajmer, Rajasthan. The woman, a 45-year-old resident of Florida, alleged that the advocate raped her several times in hotel rooms in Jaipur and Ajmer based on false promises of marriage while concealing his existing marital status.

A zero FIR was filed against Manav Singh Rathor, a resident of Ajmer, at the Mahila police station in Bundi on Wednesday night. Following a medical examination and initial investigation, the FIR was forwarded to Ajmer for further inquiry.

Accompanied by a representative of an NGO, the woman reached the office of the Superintendent of Police in Bundi to file her complaint. She recounted that she first interacted with Rathor on Facebook, who presented himself as a bachelor and invited her to India. She visited India initially in April and then again in July this year.

During her visits, she alleged that Rathor, under the pretense of marriage, established physical relations with her multiple times in Ajmer and Jaipur hotel rooms. The truth unfolded when she discovered Rathor was already married with a family in Ajmer, prompting her to lodge a formal complaint with the support of the NGO.

The initial investigation revealed that Rathor even hosted a marriage ceremony with the woman in a temple in Ajmer but avoided taking her to his home. Her persistence led her to uncover Rathor's family, culminating in the legal action being taken.
