The Delhi Fire Services on Monday began the process to cancel the NOC for Rau's IAS Study Circle building in Old Rajinder Nagar, where three IAS aspirants lost their lives after a flooded basement incident, officials reported.

According to a senior Delhi Fire Services official, the fire NOC was initially granted as the building met all specified norms. However, it lacked a mechanism to pump out water from the basement, leading to this tragic outcome. 'We have started the procedure of cancelling the fire NOC,' the official said.

The department will issue an official letter regarding the cancellation shortly, the official added.

The incident, which occurred due to heavy rains last week, claimed the lives of three IAS aspirants in the coaching hub of Old Rajinder Nagar.
