Bushra Bibi: Under Fire with 11 Cases Amid Political Turmoil

Bushra Bibi, wife of the jailed former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan, has been identified as a suspect in 11 cases, including an attack on army headquarters on May 9 last year, according to the Rawalpindi district police. The information was relayed to the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday.

The Rawalpindi police submitted a comprehensive report detailing the cases against the 49-year-old Bushra Bibi, who is currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail along with her husband. The court had ordered the authorities to disclose the specifics of these cases.

During the court hearing, the National Accountability Bureau prosecutor provided a response, revealing four cases filed against her, three in Rawalpindi and one in Lahore. While Rawalpindi and Islamabad police and NAB presented their details, the Federal Investigation Agency and Balochistan police have yet to provide their reports. The IHC has issued fresh notices for them to submit their details by Monday, subsequently adjourning the case.
