A court in Vasai, Maharashtra's Palghar district, has remanded 11 individuals in custody until August 4, following the death of Shiv Sena leader Milind More during an altercation. The accused include an autorickshaw driver, local villagers, and employees of the resort where More died, according to police reports.
Authorities said the 11 suspects are charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder and other offences. They were presented before a local magistrate who ordered their police custody until August 4. More had visited a resort with his family and collapsed during a dispute with autorickshaw drivers, ultimately dying from a suspected heart attack.
Milind More, son of former Thane district chief Raghunath More, was a 45-year-old politician in Shiv Sena's Thane unit. The police have initiated a case based on a complaint by More's relatives. Following the incident, the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation began demolishing illegal structures near Arnala beach where the resort is located.
