Tragic Collision at Sea: Indian Fisherman Killed in Naval Incident

An Indian fisherman was killed, and another went missing after a collision on Thursday morning between a Sri Lankan naval vessel and an Indian fishing boat near Katchatheevu Island, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

The Sri Lankan acting high commissioner was summoned by the MEA, where a strong protest was formally lodged regarding the fatal incident.

'We expressed our shock and anguish at the unfortunate loss of life. Our High Commissioner in Colombo will be addressing the matter with the Sri Lankan government later today,' stated the MEA.
