The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday targeted Lt Governor V K Saxena and the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) chairperson following the tragic drowning of a woman and her toddler in an under-construction drain in Ghazipur. The party demanded action against the errant officials.

The incident occurred around 8 pm when Tanuja and her three-year-old son Priyansh slipped into the waterlogged drain amid heavy rainfall. They had visited a weekly market near Khoda Colony.

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh labeled the episode as 'unfortunate' and blamed the DDA for their negligence. AAP also accused the BJP of remaining silent about what they consider 'murder'.
