Lufthansa Suspends Flights Amid Regional Tensions
Lufthansa Group has canceled all flights to and from Tel Aviv and Beirut due to the escalating regional tensions. The suspension spans until August 8 for Tel Aviv and August 12 for Beirut.
Lufthansa Group has made an urgent decision to cancel all passenger and cargo flights to and from Tel Aviv, effective immediately until August 8. This move comes in response to escalating developments in the region, according to a spokesperson for the German airline.
The airline has also extended its suspension of flights to and from Beirut until August 12. The extended suspension coincides with heightened concerns in Lebanon over potential Israeli retaliation following a recent strike in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights that resulted in the deaths of 12 children and teenagers. Hezbollah has refuted any involvement in the incident.
Several other airlines have also either canceled or suspended their flights as tensions continue to rise in the area.
