Don Lemon Sues Elon Musk over Terminated X Partnership

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon has initiated legal action against Elon Musk, claiming his partnership with the X social media platform was unlawfully terminated. The lawsuit, submitted to the California Superior Court in San Francisco, stipulates that Musk's media platform unfairly canceled their deal and exploited Lemon's name to lure advertisers.

The collaboration, which ended in March, followed Lemon's declaration that Musk would be his first guest during an interview. Musk later dismissed the strategy as ineffective, suggesting it resembled 'CNN but on social media', but noted Lemon was still welcome to continue building an audience on X.

Lemon's attorney, Carney Shegerian, called the case 'straightforward,' alleging that X executives used Lemon's prominence to enhance their advertising sales before terminating the agreement and disparaging his reputation. Lemon, terminated from CNN in April 2022 after a 17-year tenure, is seeking at least $1.5 million in damages, alongside additional payments from ad revenue.
