Major East-West Prisoner Exchange Frees Dozens

A significant prisoner exchange between East and West resulted in the freedom of multiple individuals. This exchange saw three U.S. citizens, a legal permanent resident, twelve German nationals, and eight other individuals released from various countries, including Russia, Germany, Slovenia, Norway, Poland, and the U.S.

A significant prisoner exchange occurred on Thursday that saw the release of numerous individuals between East and West. The exchange included three U.S. citizens and one legal permanent resident returning home from Russia.

The Americans freed are Evan Gershkovich, Paul Whelan, Alsu Kurmasheva, and Vladimir Kara-Murza. Meanwhile, twelve German nationals and Russian political prisoners who have been imprisoned in Germany will return to their homeland.

Returning to Germany are Dieter Voronin, Kevin Lick, Rico Krieger, Patrick Schoebel, Herman Moyzhes, Ilya Yashin, Liliya Chanysheva, Kseniya Fadeyeva, Vadim Ostanin, Andrey Pivovarov, Oleg Orlov, and Sasha Skochilenko. Additionally, eight individuals are set to return to Russia from Europe and the United States.
