In a shocking incident, a 60-year-old man has been apprehended by police in Thane's Bhiwandi town for allegedly raping a minor girl multiple times. The police are also on the lookout for a 25-year-old female accomplice who recorded the assaults and issued threats to the victim, authorities said Thursday.

According to an official from Shanti Nagar police station, the duo has been booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) following a complaint lodged by the girl's aunt, a local vegetable vendor. The arrest took place on Wednesday.

The victim's ordeal began in May when she had gone to the man's house to deliver vegetables. His female partner allegedly dragged her into a room where the accused raped her. Between June 2 and June 5, the man again took the girl to his female associate's house and raped her. The associate not only threatened to defame the victim but also filmed the assaults on her mobile phone, threatening to circulate the videos if the girl disclosed the incidents.
