The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has officially charged two individuals for allegedly sheltering a key conspirator involved in the murder of BJP Yuva Morcha member Praveen Nettaru in Bellare, Karnataka. This development follows two years of investigation.

The accused, Mansoor Pasha and Riyaz HY, reportedly assisted Mustafa Paichar, identified as a master trainer for the PFI service team. Paichar had allegedly planned and executed the killing of Nettaru in a public place on July 27, 2022, aiming to incite public terror, an NIA spokesperson revealed.

The NIA took over the case from Karnataka Police on August 4, 2022, invoking the UA(P) Act and IPC provisions. To date, 19 suspects have been apprehended. Paichar, who had been on the run, was captured in Sakaleshpura, Hassan district, alongside Mansoor Pasha on May 10, 2024. Riyaz, attempting to flee from India, was detained at Mumbai international airport on June 3. Both face charges under sections 120B and 212 of the IPC and section 19 of the UA(P) Act. Investigations continue to apprehend seven other absconders, the spokesperson added.
