Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced a zero-tolerance policy against facilitators of terrorism, drug traffickers, and illegal miners in Kathua, Jammu, and Kashmir, on Saturday. Addressing the 'Empowering Youth for Viksit Bharat' program at Government Degree College in Hiranagar, Singh emphasized strict action regardless of clout or political links.
'All-out efforts are underway by local administration and police to combat these issues,' Singh stated, urging society to support the administration's efforts to curb drug use, cattle smuggling, and illegal mining. He highlighted the importance of educating youth about the dangers of drug use.
Singh also recommended special classes for youth to prevent their talent and energy from being wasted in crime. He advocated for a pledge against illegal activities, called for breaking the nexus between terrorists and drug dealers, and highlighted administrative measures to enhance defense capabilities against terror threats.
During a subsequent 'public durbar' with Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Minhas, Singh addressed numerous grievances on the spot, paralleling an official statement that emphasized timely fulfillment of citizen demands in line with 'Jan Bhagidari' principles.
