Senior BJP leader Arjuna Munda has urged the Jharkhand government to protect tribal lands in the Santal Pargana region under constitutional provisions.
Referring to recent clashes in Pakur's Gopinathpur involving tribals and alleged Bangladeshi intruders over land grabbing, the former union tribal affairs minister stated that the community is under a dual threat.
Munda claimed that tribal families are not only losing their land but also their daughters, hinting at marriages between Bangladeshi infiltrators and tribal women.
He suggested that such activities are prevalent across several districts in the region, causing significant demographic changes.
He stressed the urgency for the state government to focus on this issue and ensure the protection of tribal lands as mandated by the Constitution.
