Two minor girls were allegedly raped in separate incidents in Bahraich district, Uttar Pradesh, last week, as confirmed by local police officials.
On August 1, a nine-year-old fell victim to a criminal act in a village under the Motipur police station jurisdiction. A complaint filed by her uncle led to the arrest of the perpetrator, who, according to recent findings, is a 19-year-old adult.
In another incident, a 12-year-old girl was assaulted while returning from school. Initially hidden by her family due to social stigma, the crime was later reported thanks to the intervention of a social worker. The accused was identified through CCTV footage and promptly arrested.
