British PM Addresses Immigrant Attacks Amidst Rising Violence
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will urgently meet with ministers and law enforcement officials to address recent street violence and attacks on hotels housing asylum seekers. Social media misinformation has fueled right-wing anger following a stabbing incident, leading to attacks on immigrants and Muslims. The government aims to prevent future violence.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is set to convene an urgent meeting with ministers and top law enforcement officials in a bid to put an end to days of violent street clashes and assaults on hotels housing asylum seekers. Starmer condemned the actions as 'thuggery.'
The unrest has been brewing for six days, fueled by right-wing activists spreading misinformation on social media about a stabbing incident that claimed the lives of three girls during a dance class. False rumors implicating a Muslim immigrant as the suspect have exacerbated tensions, resulting in violent attacks on immigrants and Muslims.
On Sunday, mobs targeted two hotels hosting asylum seekers, smashing windows and setting fires before police intervened to disperse the crowds and evacuate residents. During Monday's Cobra meeting, both police chiefs and government ministers are expected to devise strategies to prevent further violence. The Home Office has initiated a 'rapid response process' to offer better protection to mosques amid escalating threats.
