Authorities in Thane, Maharashtra, have exposed an unlawful operation involved in the production of veterinary medicinal products. Police investigations revealed that raw materials worth Rs 12.4 lakh were being utilized for the illegal manufacture, law enforcement disclosed on Thursday.

An FIR has been lodged against five individuals, including the factory owner, following the discovery. Police and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials raided the facility located at Roshan Baug-Faizan Compound in Bhiwandi on Monday, acting on a tip-off. During the raid, various chemicals and other materials essential for manufacturing were seized, an official from Bhoiwada police station noted.

The suspects had been conducting their unlawful activities for the past five months without proper authorization or technical training. Charges have been filed under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act against the factory owner and his accomplices, the police confirmed. The enforcement action aims to curb the distribution and sale of illicit veterinary drugs.
