A policeman was caught on camera slapping a woman on the road and brandishing his service pistol after a minor collision between his car and an e-rickshaw, an officer stated on Thursday. The Sub-Inspector involved has been suspended and faces a departmental inquiry.

The sub-inspector, Sher Singh, posted in the police lines of Hapur, lost his temper following the collision and engaged in misconduct with the e-rickshaw driver and a passenger, identified as a woman. In his rage, Singh slapped the woman and drew his pistol.

The incident, captured on video and circulated on social media, prompted the Superintendent of Police (Hapur) to take immediate action, suspending Singh and ordering an investigation led by Circle Officer Varun Mishra.
