Russian Artillery Strike on Ukrainian Supermarket Leaves Two Dead

In a tragic escalation of hostilities, Russian artillery struck a supermarket in the frontline Ukrainian town of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk on Friday. The attack resulted in the deaths of at least two people and left 17 others injured, according to regional governor Vadym Filashkin.

Governor Filashkin's Telegram post was accompanied by images showing thick black smoke billowing from the decimated building. "The strike on the supermarket in Kostiantynivka is yet another act of Russian terror. War against civilians is all they know," remarked Ukraine's presidential chief of staff Andriy Yermak on X.

Emergency services are still involved in rescue operations amidst the destruction. The Donetsk region remains a focal point of intense fighting, with Moscow's forces controlling significant portions and frequently targeting Ukrainian-held areas with shelling and air strikes.
