Iran's Revolutionary Guard Readies for Retaliation Against Israel

Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards are currently engaged in military drills in the western province of Kermanshah, set to continue until Tuesday, as reported by Iran's official news agency on Sunday.

These exercises, which commenced on Friday, aim to enhance combat readiness and vigilance in the region near the Iraqi border, according to an armed forces official cited by IRNA. The drills follow Iran's vow to retaliate against Israel for the assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh on July 31 in Tehran.

Iran and Hamas accuse Israel of orchestrating the assassination, heightening concerns of an escalating conflict between Israel and Hamas transforming into a broader Middle Eastern war. Revolutionary Guards deputy commander Ali Fadavi stated on Friday that orders from Iran's supreme leader regarding severe punishment for Israel and retribution for Haniyeh's death are explicit and will be executed in the 'best possible way.'
