Tragedy Strikes Bhojpur: Deceased in Boat Capsize, CM Announces Aid

On Sunday, a tragic incident occurred in Bhojpur district, where the identities of the deceased were not disclosed. In another event, a boat capsized in the Bagmati river, leading to two missing persons. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar announced Rs 4 lakh ex gratia for each victim’s kin.

Bhojpur district was struck by tragedy on Sunday, according to local police.

The incident occurred in Majhauan, though the district administration did not disclose the identity of the deceased. Authorities handed the bodies over to their families after post-mortem examinations.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his condolences, announcing an ex gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased.

In another unfortunate event, two persons went missing after a boat capsized in the Bagmati river on Sunday morning. A senior official stated that a small boat overturned in the middle of the river. While seven or eight people managed to swim to the riverbank, two were reported missing.

Search operations are currently underway, the official added.
