Jeweller Fends off Armed Robbers with Wooden Stick

A jeweller thwarted a robbery attempt at his shop in Thane city on Wednesday using a wooden stick to fend off four men carrying revolvers, police said.
One of the robbers fired a shot during the incident, but luckily, no one was injured, Deputy Commissioner of Police Amar Singh Jadhav confirmed. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact timing and location of the gunfire.
Residents nearby chased the gang members, eventually overpowering one of them and handing him over to the police.
According to a senior police inspector, four robbers armed with revolvers entered the jewellery shop in Balkum area around noon and assaulted the shopkeeper.
As the thieves attempted to make off with the jewellery, the shopkeeper raised an alarm and fought them off with a wooden stick, forcing them to retreat. Police officers from Kapurbawdi station arrived promptly and detained one suspect. A manhunt is underway for the remaining three gang members.
CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral on social media, providing crucial evidence for the investigation, which is currently being pursued.
