Step-Father Sentenced to 20 Years for Raping Minor Step-Daughter

A special court convicted Rakesh for raping his minor step-daughter and sentenced him to 20 years in prison. Rakesh, who had been sexually abusing the girl for three years, was also fined Rs 50,000. The case was based on a complaint filed by the victim's mother in 2019.

A special court has sentenced Rakesh to 20 years in prison for raping his minor step-daughter approximately five years ago. Additionally, a fine of Rs 50,000 has been imposed.

According to Additional District Government Advocate Devesh Chandra Tripathi, the Special Judge, Parul Verma, delivered the verdict on Sunday. The plaintiff lodged a complaint on the night of September 9, 2019, alleging that Rakesh, in a drunken state, raped the ten-year-old girl.

The girl had been subjected to sexual abuse by her step-father for three years. When the victim’s mother discovered the crime, she found Rakesh attempting to strangle the girl with a gas pipe. A police complaint was registered, and a chargesheet was filed following the investigation.
