The search continues for Christopher Morvillo, a notable New York lawyer, and five other missing passengers after their yacht sank off Italy's coast. The group included Mike Lynch, a British tech entrepreneur and longtime client of Morvillo, who recently avoided a conviction in a high-profile legal case.
On Tuesday, divers continued their efforts to locate Morvillo, his wife Neda, Lynch, and three other passengers. The luxury superyacht, Bayesian, was anchored near Porticello, Sicily, when it was struck by a severe pre-dawn storm on Monday, resulting in its sinking. Among 22 people on board, 15 have been confirmed as survivors.
Clifford Chance law firm, where Morvillo was a partner, expressed deep sorrow over the incident. Ayla Ronald, a senior associate at the firm, was among the survivors. Morvillo was known for his defense of Lynch in a major fraud case involving Hewlett-Packard's acquisition of Lynch's company, Autonomy.
