Fugitive Falls Through Ceiling, Arrested in Memphis Murder Case

A dramatic turn of events unfolded in Tennessee as a suspect in a fatal shooting was arrested after falling through the ceiling of a home where he had been hiding, authorities confirmed.

Deario Wilkerson, age 20, was apprehended by a US Marshals Service task force assigned to West Tennessee. The arrest occurred Monday in Memphis after the task force surrounded the house where Wilkerson was located.

Wilkerson faces charges of first-degree murder and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon in connection to the fatal April 2 shooting of Troy Cunningham in Memphis. The task force tracked Wilkerson to the Memphis residence and took him into custody after his dramatic fall from the attic; he was unharmed during the process. Currently, it is unknown if Wilkerson has legal representation.
