The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed chargesheets against 10 individuals in an arms and explosives seizure case in Mizoram tied to Myanmar-based insurgent groups. This development follows an official statement released on Friday.

According to the statement, the accused have actively participated in an arms, ammunition, and explosives trafficking network operating along the Indo-Myanmar border. The named individuals, including some absconders from Myanmar, are Lalrintluanga, Laldinpuia, Zoremsanga, Lalbiaktluanga, Lalrinsanga, Zothanmawia, Henry Siangnuna, J Rohlupuia, Laldinsanga, and David Lalramsanga.

The case, registered in May 2022, originated from the seizure of a significant cache of explosives, firearms, and ammunition from two vehicles near Kelsih village in Aizawl district. Four vehicle occupants were detained, leading to a broader investigation that uncovered a conspiracy to supply arms to Myanmar militia groups.
