Class 12 Student Mistaken for Cattle Smuggler, Shot Dead

A tragic incident unfolded on August 23 when a Class 12 student, Aryan Mishra, was chased and fatally shot by a group of cow vigilantes, police reported on Tuesday.

The five accused - Saurabh, Anil Kaushik, Varun, Krishna, and Adesh - have been arrested. According to police, the vigilantes mistook Mishra and his friends for cattle smugglers after receiving a tip about suspected smugglers in two SUVs. The group then pursued Mishra's car for 30 kilometers before opening fire near the Gadhpuri toll on the Delhi-Agra National Highway.

Judicial custody has been ordered for all accused, and the police have recovered the car and illegal weapon used in the incident. Further investigations are currently underway.
