Two Arrested in Fatehpur for Attempted Cow Slaughter After Police Encounter
Two individuals in Fatehpur district were arrested while attempting to slaughter a cow. The arrest followed a police encounter in which the accused suffered injuries. The cow was saved, and two country-made pistols along with the equipment for cow slaughter were seized. An FIR has been registered against the duo.

Two individuals were taken into custody on Tuesday in Fatehpur district after a police encounter thwarted their attempt to slaughter a cow, a police official reported.
Hathgavan police station SHO Vrindawan Rai stated that upon receiving a tip related to the cow slaughter at a brick kiln, the police team swiftly surrounded the suspects, prompting them to open fire.
In the exchange, Mahfooz alias Kallu (40) and Mahmood Hasan (44) sustained leg injuries. They were subsequently arrested and taken to the government hospital for treatment, Rai added. The cow intended for slaughter was rescued, and two country-made pistols along with cow slaughter equipment were confiscated.
An FIR has been filed against the accused. Mahfooz, identified as a history sheeter, has 13 previous cases against him, while Hasan faces three charges.
